The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and United States Forest Service (USFS) invites the public to participate in a series of online meetings regarding the USFS application to withdraw approximately 225,378 acres in the Superior National Forest in northeastern Minnesota from disposition under the mineral and geothermal leasing laws over a 20-year period, subject to valid existing rights.
On Oct. 21, 2021, the BLM published a notice in the Federal Register announcing its receipt of USFS application, available online at https://go.usa.gov/xesF7. Learn more about this project on the BLM’s website: https://go.usa.gov/xe6cW
Please pre-register by 5 p.m. Central Standard Time on Jan. 16 if you would like to provide verbal comments at the Jan. 18 meeting.

Registered attendees will be selected at random to provide comment at each meeting. Those selected will be notified via the email address provided through the registration process at least 24 hours in advance of each meeting. In-meeting, verbal comments will be limited to 3 minutes.
Comments will be accepted through Jan. 19 via email to BLM_ES_Lands@blm.gov (include Superior National Forest Withdrawal Application in the subject line). Comments can also be sent via mail to F. David Radford, Deputy State Director of Geospatial Services, BLM Eastern States Office, RE: Superior National Forest Withdrawal Application, 5275 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, Virginia 22041.
